A female model allegedly committed suicide at her rented flat in Rupnagar area of Mirpur in the city on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sabira Hossain, 21, a female model and a sales executive of Gaan Bangla Music Channel. Police recovered the mysterious body from her rented apartment following information in the morning.
Police detained Sabira’s boy friend Nirjhar Sinha Rounaq in this connection.
Quoting the locals, Syed Shahid Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupnagar Police Station, said, “Nirjhar confessed that he had a love affair with Sabira and she has been putting pressure on him to marry her,”
Police suspect that she might have committed suicide over her frustration in love affair, the OC said.
Sabira has been living in a sublet room of a flat located on Road No. 12 in the area. She had love affair with more than four persons, OC added.
A case was filed in this connection, the OC said.
“We are investigating in the incident after cognizance of the posts and videos at facebook,” the OC said.
On information, police sent it to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Earlier the incident, Sabira in a Facebook post blamed Nirjhar for her suicide. Her intimate relation photos were also found at the post.
