Ganajagoron Mancho activist Shammi Haque on Friday filed a General Diary (GD) with Mohammadpur Police Station that two suspicious persons always follow her.
The GD was filed in the morning seeking protection, said Jamaluddin Mir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station.
Police recorded the GD and assured her of security, the OC said.
Shammi said, “Two persons always follow me whenever I go to a local market”.
“At first I thought that they would be stalkers but now I think that they are specifically following
me and their movement is suspicious as well,” she claimed.
I always protest the brutal attacks and killings of freethinkers. “The fundamentalists think that the machete is the only weapon to stop freethinking that basically worries them.”
Shammi has been an active member of Ganajagoran Mancho, the pro-liberation platform. She writes on women and other rights issues. She writes for Bengali blog site ‘Istishon’.
