Naogaon district team finished third in the Walton Air Conditioner National (U-19) Youth Female Handball Tournament when they thrashed Jamalpur district team by 14-1 goals in a place-deciding match held at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Sunday.
The winners led the first half 13-1.
Shahanaz of Naogaon district team scored six goals and her teammate netted four goals.
After the match Secretary of the National Sports Council Shivnath Sarker distributed the prizes among the winners and the losers as the chief guest while Senior Principal Officer of Walton Md Mehrab Hossain was with him as the special guest.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor was present at the time.
Naogaon district team were awarded Tk 20,000 while Jamalpur district team were given Tk 15,000 as prize-money.
