Pass and GPA-5 rate increased in Barisal Board and female examinees done better than male in the result of Higher Secondary Examination 2017 under Barisal Education Board(BEB) published on Sunday.
The result declared by Biplob Kumar Bhattacharjee, the secretary and acting chairman of BEB at the his office declaring the result said that most of the failed examinees had bad result in English subject.
According to the declared result of HSC 2017, this year 60,486 examinees appeared from 329 colleges under 116 centers of BEB.
Out them 42,507 (70.28 percent) passed with 815 GPA-5 grade. Last year the pass rate of BEB was 70.13 percent with 787 GPA-5 grade.
This year 21,396 (73.41 percent) out of 29,147 female examinees with 418 in GPA-5 grade passed HSC from BEB.
On other hand 21,111 (67.36 percent) out of 31,339 male examinees passed HSC from BEB with 397 GPA-5 grade.
According to the BEB sources, Patuakhali district done better with 75.57 percent pass rate with 79 GPA-5 grade and result of Pirojpur district with 60.18 percent pass rate with 65 GPA-5 grade among the six district of the division.
Pass rate of Barisal divisional headquarter district Barisal was 70.01 percent with 442 GPA-5 grade as fourth in the division according to the pass rate.
Examinees of Science and Home Economics group scored the highest 81.81 pass rate with 579 GPA-5 grade, while the Humanitise and Islamic Studies group done worst with 63.73 percent pass rate with 124 GPA-5 grade in group-wise result of HSC 2017 of BEB.
Besides examinees of Business Studies group with 74.66 percent pass rate with 112 GPA-5 grade, BEB sources said. Prof. Md. Anwarul Azim, controller of examinations of BEB, this year 60 examinees including 13 females had been expelled for adopting unfair means in HSC examination.
None was passed from two institutions including Bihari Pilot School and College of Vandaria with two examinees and Sehangol School and College of Swarupkathi with 3 examinees while 6 institutions including Barisal Cadet College scored 100 percent pass rate, the CE of BEB added.
Jessore Board
Khulna district on the leading position
Khulna Correspondent reports: Khulna district is on the leading position in the result of HSC under Jessore Board this year. Khulna Government Mozid Memorial city college, located near Hotel Salam in the city, achieved the top position in the result of HSC.
MM city college sources said, examinees of this college achieved the glorious result in the HSC examination under the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Jessore. Among all the colleges, MM city college ranked the top position. The passing rate of this college is 78.66 percent.
It is mentionable in this connection that a total of 19647 examinees appeared for the HSC this year under Jessore Board while 14242 examinees passed in the examination.
On the other hand, 904 examinees sat for the HSC examination from MM City college this year while 871 passed and 300 got GPA-5.
The girl examinees are on the ahead in the HSC examination in MM City college, college sources added.
Teachers, students and guardians expressed their emotion of expressions for the brilliant result of the eHSC examinees of the college.
Due to heavy rainfall in Khulna city, this correspondent found a few presence of guardians in the college campus.
Sylhet Board tops with 72pc pass rate
Sylhet Correspondent adds: Sylhet Board has secured the top position among eight educational boards with 72 percent pass rate in the HSC examinations this year.
Some 65,000 students appeared in the examination under Sylhet Board. Of them, 46,797 have come out successful.
Among the GPA-5 achievers, 245 are girls and 455 boys,according to Sylhet Education Board Controller Shamsul Islam .
