Female students did better than their male counterparts in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid disclosed the results at a press conference in the media room of the ministry on Thursday.
The pass rate of female students is 1.67 percent more than the male examinees in all the 10 education boards.
A total of 73.93 percent male students and 75.60 percent female students passed the HSC and equivalent examinations this year.
However, in terms of GPA-5, female students lagged behind the male students. A total of 32,381 male students secured GPA-5, while 25,895 female students secured GPA-5.
A total of 12,03,640 students — 5,57,842 females and 6,45,798 males -took part in the examinations.
