The police recovered the body of a female bank employee from her own residence in the city’s Rampura area on Sunday night.
The deceased identified as Shamima Akter Liza (31) was a Cash Officer of South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank, Motijheel branch. She and her husband Asaduzzaman lived at Banasree under Rampura PS on Road-3. She hailed from Jhalokathi District.
Asaduzzaman said that Liza first joined BRAC Bank in 2012. But she could not stay for long, as she faced charge of shortage of cash. Later, in April, 2013 she joined South Agriculture and Commerce (SAC) Bank, Motijheel Branch and faced similar charge. As her husband, though I paid back the amount of Tk 10,000 to SAC Bank, Liza committed suicide in shame. At that time, I was not at home.
Enamul Hossain, Sub-Inspector(SI) of Rampura police station said, the deceased commited suicide by hanging with the fans. Receiving information, Police recovered the body sent it to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s morgue for autupsy.
Sheikh Jaharul Islam, younger brother of the deceased, filed an unnatural death case with the police station in connection with the incident.
