Defending champion Roger Federer will bid for a seventh Halle title on Sunday against Colombia’s Alejandro Falla.
Federer, ranked fourth in the world, saw off Japan’s Kei Nishikori 6-3, 7-6 (7/4) after 69th-ranked Falla earlier upset Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber 5-7, 7-6 (7/5), 6-4 to became the first Colombian to reach a grasscourt final.
Federer, 32, is bidding for a boost ahead of his latest assault on Wimbledon where he has been champion on seven occasions.
