Staff Reporter :A four-member team of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Friday visited the spot on the Dhaka University campus where blogger Avijit Roy was killed on February 26.The team led by Jagdeep Singh Khangura, arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday to assist the Bangladeshi law enforcement agencies to investigate the murder case. The team reached the place of occurrence around 1:35 pm and took some photographs. They also visited Suhrawardy Udyan and Bangla Academy where the Ekushey book fair was arranged.”The FBI team will provide technical support for the investigation into the murder of Avijit Roy,” said Krishnapad Ray, Deputy Commissioner of Detective and Criminal Intelligence Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police while talking to reporters at the murder site.”The team will work alongside the law enforcement agencies of the country. We hope that the main motive behind the killing will be unearthed through mutual cooperation,” he said.Meanwhile, Farabi Shafiur Rahman, also a blogger, was arrested on March 2 on the charge of his alleged involvement in the killing.
