Federation of Bangladesh Human Rights Organizations (FBHRO) has urged the leader of two major political parties to hold a dialogue to resolve the ongoing political impasse.
The FBHRO said it in a press conference held at National Press Club on Monday.
Convener of FBHRO, Dr Md Shahjahan said that people were paying price of political violence and human rights violation.
The FBHRO revealed that from January 5 to January 19, as many as 27 people had been killed and more than 750 people injured in political violence. The number is rising constantly. Nearly 200 different kinds of transports had been burnt and over 700 were vandalised.
It said income and livelihood of the poor people are being affected. The blockade is undoing the country’s economy. So, it (blockade) should be withdrawn.
