Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Abdul Matlub Ahmad urged the Chinese investors to invest in the country’s potential sector to attain the win-win situation for the both countries economy.
The FBCCI President made the request while addressing the 6th South Asia -Sichuan Business Promotion Round-Table Conference in Chengdu, China recently, said a FBCCI press release on Wednesday.
Matlub Ahmed requested Chinese businessmen to come forward to invest for the Development and Expansion of Roads and Bridges, Maintenance of Existing Roads, Development of Railways, Easing Traffic Congestion, Development of Ports, Deep Sea Ports and Water Transportation, Sea based infrastructure and Efficient Port Infrastructure and Development and Expansion of Airports are some of the priority projects in the pipeline.
The FBCCI president underscored the need for maximizing cooperation in various aspects of infrastructure, agriculture, industry and connectivity. He also emphasized the importance of development road, rail, ports and airports, water and power infrastructure.
FBCCI invited the Chinese investors to invest in the Coal-based Power Generation, Nuclear Power Plants, Power Import under Sub-Regional Cooperation, Building Renewable Energy, Transmission Line, Expansion of Energy Production Capacity and Import of LNG, Natural Gas and Gas Exploration in the 26 blocks of Sea in the Bay of Bengal. Special attention was drawn by the FBCCI President to invest in special Economic Zones.
FBCCI President spoke on the theme of the business conference. The theme of the Conference was “Construction and Development of Infrastructure in South Asian Countries” and “Investment, Trade and Industrial Transfer”.
Meanwhile, FBCCI President and China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) President Li Gange, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) recently to expand trade and business between the two countries.
Earlier, a 22-member business delegation led by Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of FBCCI attended the Round-Table Conference organized by China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Sichuan Council, China held on 15-17 June in Chengdu, China. The program was co- organized by China Development Bank, Sichuan Branch Institute of South Asian Studies.
