Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Wednesday urged the Turkish Business Delegation to invest in the Furniture and Ready Made Garments sector of Bangladesh.
Ahmad also emphasized on Turkish investment in the Construction, Textile And Pvc Pipe Manufacturing. The invitation came at a meeting between the FBCCI Business Delegation and the 23 members Business Delegation of Turkish Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics Association. Directors of FBCCI and the representatives of different Chambers and Associations were present.
The Business Leaders of Turkey introduced the line of their Business and expressed interest to import necessary products from Bangladesh. Bangladesh Businessmen also could import the potential products from Turkey, they added. The Turkey Delegation also invited Bangladesh Business Community to visit their country.
Addressing the meeting, Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of FBCCI said that Bangladesh is experiencing a sustainable growth of 6 per cent for the last few years. The FBCCI President stated that Bangladesh expects Turkey as the development partner This visit will further falicitate the existing trade and Business between the two countries, he hoped.
‘One to One’ meeting between the sectoral representatives of both the countries was held followed by the discussion.
It may be mentioned here that the volume of export from Bangladesh to Turkey in
2014-15 was $ 720.88 million and import from Turkey was $ 158.90 Million. The main exporting products from Bangladesh are Woven Garments, Jute and Jute Goods, Knitwear, Ceramics.
