FBCCI president seeks Czech investment

The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) President Kazi Akramuddin Ahmed on Wednesday urged the Czech investors to invest in the country’s transport and power sectors with a view to attain the win-win situation for both the country’s economy.
The meeting was organized by FBCCI at its conference room with Czech delegates headed by Czech Ambassador Miloslav Stasek.
The FBCCI president said, Czech Republic can become an important strategic partner of Bangladesh in heavy industry, machinery production and energy sectors.
Bangladesh export to Czech Republic $112.10 million in the FY 2013-14 and import $12.75 million nowadays.
Akramuddin hinted that Bangladesh has an investment friendly environment and added that the visiting team can identify the business areas as per their interest where they can work under joint venture initiatives.
Since the establishment of formal diplomatic relations in 1993, the two countries have enjoyed a cordial and steady bond of friendship. He underscored the need for increasing more bilateral trade relation between the countries.
To become middle-income country by 2021 we need Czech Republic’s support in cool and nuclear power generation”, lamented the president and urged for technical support in developing industrial infrastructure of the country.
