A training program organized by FBCCI was on Thursday at its auditorium for fire prevention and fire control measures in the industries and household units. It may be mentioned that FBCCI is putting special emphasis on fire control training for its member bodies after the recent devastating fire incidents in Churihatta, FR Tower, Gulshan DCC Market and Khilgaon & Malibag Kitchen Market. About 40 participants from Bangladesh Chemical & Perfumery Merchant Association and Bangladesh Plastic Packaging, Roll Manufacturers Owners Association took training at the program. The training program was supported by Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate. Trainees were trained in two different sessions in the program, said a press release.
It may be mentioned that, FBCCI is working for a long term solution of fire safety risks after the devastating fire incident in Churihatta of old Dhaka on 21 February. FBCCI is working relentlessly with the Dhaka South City Corporation, Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate, concerned government parties and the old Dhaka associations.
The resource persons at the program, emphasized on adequate resources for fire safety department. They also emphasized on investing a particular amount of money in industries for fire safety measures. It is also necessary to set fire extinguisher in every buildings/factories, it added. If any associations of FBCCI would like to organize such training program, necessary support will be provided from FBCCI.
