FBCCI gets WCO ‘Certificate of Merit’

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has received the ‘Certificate of Merit’ awarded by the World Customs Organization (WCO) on the occasion of International Customs Day.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal handed over the certificate to the FBCCI President M Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin at a function at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on Saturday, said a press release on Sunday.
Prime Minister’s Economic Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan were, among others, present at the function.
As a global practice, the revenue authorities recognise its associate organizations every year. This year, FBCCI received this prestigious award for second time as an organization.
Signed by WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya, the certificate was given to FBCCI for rendering exceptional service to the international customs community.
