FBCCI discussion on ‘Success in Power Production: Best use for the Dynamic Growth’

Bangladesh has achieved huge success in power production, in the last decade. But investment plans are needed ensuring the best use of power to take the country into next step of the development process. Necessary reforms are also needed, in this regard. These observations came at a discussion meeting on ‘Success in Power Production:
Best Use for the Dynamic Growth’ arranged by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Sunday at a city hotel. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman grace the occasion as chief guest, said a press release.
FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin chaired the discussion while the State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid was present as the special guest. Dr. Ahmad Kaykaus, Secretary of Power Division also attended the program as the guest of honor.
Sheikh F. Fahim, Senior Vice-President of FBCCI presented the introductory remarks. Directors, heads of member bodies of FBCCI and the representatives of different organizations also participated in the discussion.
Chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Engr. Khaled Mahmood, Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) Major General Moinuddin (Retd) and Chairman of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) Md. Helal Uddin took part in the discussion.
Humayun Rashid, Managing Director of Energypac Power Generation Limited and Mohammad Mejbah Uddin, CEO of UECL (Power) also participated in the discussion.
