Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) on Tuesday signed an agreement to facilitate, strengthen and diversify the cooperation of the industrial and service sectors between Bangladesh and Austria.
FBCCI Acting President M Muntakim Ashraf and Head of Advantage Austria Dr Oskar Andesner inked the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at the ‘Bangladesh-Austria Economic and Trade Forum’ at the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in the city, said a press release.
Economic Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Mashiur Rahman attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest.
Austrian Ambassador to Bangladesh Brigitte Oppinger-Walchshofer, Commerce Secretary Shubhashish Bose, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi Aminul Islam and BUILD Chairman Mahbubul Alam, among others, attended the forum.
Under the agreement, both organizations will exchange business delegations, facilitate contacts between companies of both countries and improve the bilateral trade and investment relationships.
A 25-member delegation from Austria attended the forum. Government officials, experts and the representatives of business organizations from Bangladesh joined it.
