Chattogram Bureau :
ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on railways and an MP from Raozan, said there must be a new bridge at Kalurghat. For the time being, I do not want to say anything about how long it will take. However, I can say that the process of building a new bridge at Kalurghat is underway. Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar railway line will be launched soon. Before that, the bridge at Kalurghat has to be maintained. It needs to be strengthened. Heavy engine use must be adapted. So that this bridge will last till the new bridge is built.
The Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar railway line will be launched earlier with the existing bridge at Kalurghat. Asked about the relocation of the CRB hospital to Kumira, the MP said there was a need for a hospital in Chittagong.
If it is not possible to set up a hospital in CRB, it will have to be shifted elsewhere in consultation with the Prime Minister.
That is why we have proposed an alternative. If necessary, this hospital should be in the same place as previous Kumira TB Hospital.
