Fatullah Pilot School crushed Barnamala Pathshala by 12-1 goals at a Dhaka venue opening day’s match of the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey Tournament at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
In the other opening day’s fixture, Zinzira PM Pailot School beat Motijheel Government Boys High School by 7-0 goals and Poysa High School won 3-0 against Nahar Academy while Joygobinda High School and Rahmatullah Model High School played to a 1-1 draw.
Earlier, First Security Islami Bank managing director Sayed M Wasek Ali inaugurated the Dhaka venue match at the newly installed Blue Turf as the chief guest.
In all, 21 schools, split in six groups, are competing at the Dhaka venue matches to book a seat as group champion in the 32-team final round while the other teams will qualify from country’s seven other venues.
Meanwhile, in the day’s Faridpur venue matches, Moyej Uddin High School beat Sadipur High School 2-0; Faridpur Muslim Mission beat Ankur School & College, also 2-0; Manikganj Model High School defeated Madaripur Public Institute 2-1; Faridpur Police Lines High School beat S M Model Govt High School 1-0; and United Islami Govt High School beat Faridpur High School, also 1-0.
