The government has appointed Rabab Fatima as Bangladesh’s next Ambassador to Japan. Currently serving as the Director General (East Asia & Pacific) at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Fatima will replace Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, said a Foreign Ministry media note on Tuesday.
She served in Bangladesh Permanent Mission to UN, New York, Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the UNOG in Geneva and Bangladesh Embassy, Beijing in different capacities.
Fatima also served on lien with two international organisations- the Commonwealth Secretariat, London and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) — from 2006-15. As a diplomat, she has extensive experience and specialisation on human rights and humanitarian issues.
