The Pourashova poll at Fatikchari in Chittagong will be held on October 30. ,A total of 46 candidates submitted the nomination for the posts of mayor and councilors at Fatikchari Pourashova in Chittagong.
Of these, three candidates submitted nomination papers for the post of mayor, six candidates for reserve female councilor’s posts and 37 for councilor posts.
The ruling Awami League leader and incumbent mayor Mohammad Ismail Hossain, BNP candidate Muhammad Jah-angir Alam Chowdhury and individual candidate Faruq Ahamod (rival candidate of Awami League) submitted the nomination papers.
Election Commission Officer at Fatikchari Pourashova Shamsul Alam Foujdar said three mayoral candidates, six candidates for reserve female councilor’s posts and 37 for councilor posts submitted the nomination papers on Thursday, the last day of submitting nomination papers for the Fatikchari Pourashova poll. He said the date of the withdrawal of candidature is on October 14.
