Motor cyclist Al-Amin Molla (41) and his minor son Maruf Hasan Rup (7) were killed and his wife Nahar Begum (35) was injured when his motor cycle was dashed violently from its back by a speeding pick up on Bagerhat-Pirojpur Highway at Fatepur under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila on Monday after noon.
Deceased Al-Amin Molla hailed from Pinguria village within Badhal Union under Kachua Upazila in the district.
Police said that deceased Al-Amin Molla was residing in Khulna city corporation along his wife and son. He was the owner of a restaurant at Rupsa area in the city corporation.
On the day Al-Amin Molla went to his village home along with his wife and son in order to meet the relative in the morning.
In the after noon he was returning to Khulna by his own motor cycle and when he reached the place of occurrence a the killer pick up that was going from Pirojpur to Bergerat dashed the motor cycle violently from its behind and fled away.
As a result, son Maruf Hasan was killed on the spot and the cyclist and his wife were seriously injured. The local people recovered them and sent them to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital where Al-Amin succumbed to his injuries on the same day.
Another report states that Md. Rezwan Ahmed, UP member of Rampal Sadar Union under Rampal Upazila in the district was seriously injured when a truck laden with sands hit his motor cycle from its back on Rampal-Bhaga Road at Jhanjhania under the samne Upazila on Monday.
Locals said that at 2 pm the UP member was talking with some one at the place of occurrence seating on a motor cycle. At that time the truck appeared there and hit the motor cycle from its behind violently. As a result, the UP member was seriously injured. He was immediately admitted to Rampal Upazila Complex for hiks treatment.
