Muggers shot an agent of mobile money transfer window ‘bKash’ and his father before looting Tk 4 lakh in
the district town on Monday afternoon.
The victims were identified as Babul, 30, owner of ‘bKash’ agent ‘Mizan Communication’ at Alir Jahan of the town and his father Abdul Manjur, 65.
Babul said, as soon as he got down from a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in front of his business establishment at around 2pm after drawing Tk 4 lakh from the town branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd, a gang of seven muggers who were following him on a taxi and a motorcycle opened fire on him.
As Manjur who was inside the shop came in the rescue of his son, the hoodlums also shot him.
Later, they took away a bag full of money and fled the scene after firing gunshots in the air.
Babul was hit by two bullets while his father by one. They were taken to sadar hospital.
