A court in Sherpur district on Tuesday awarded three persons, including father and son, life imprisonment for killing a man in 2015.
The lifers are Badsha Mia, and his son Fakir Ali, residents of Chandernagar Chakkarpar village in Sadar upazila; and Hasmat Ali, of Alinapara village.
District and session judge Mohammad Al Mamun delivered the verdict in the afternoon.
According to the case prosecution, the trio beat Tajel Mia of Chandernagar to death on October 27, 2015.
Deceased’s brother filed a case against 11 people the following day.
After examining records of 17 witnesses, the court pronounced the verdict.
Public Prosecutor Advocate Chandan Kumar Pal, the state lawyer for the case, confirmed the matter.
