A man has become the victim of killing after protesting his daughter’s harassment in connection with the objectionable audio record in Jashore. The incident happened in Sarthi Mill area of Jeshore
suburb around Thursday night.
The deceased is Abdur Razzak, 52, said Jashore Kotowali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammed Moniruzzaman.
Razzak’s neighbour Hossain Ali had been harassing his daughter Rajani, 20, for a long time, the OC said quoting locals.
He said that they (Razzak and Hossain) had been arguing over capturing the objectionable audio record over his daughter’s secrecy for the past few days.
On the day of incident, following an argument Razzak slapped Hossain Ali. Then they proceeded to kick each other, leading Razzak to fall down and sustain head injuries, locals said.
Razzak was rescued by locals and family members, and then taken to Jashore General Hospital where duty doctor Kajol Mollik declared him dead.
OC Moniruzzaman also said, “Hossain Ali was blackmailing the girl over an audio recording. They (Razzak and Hossain) had a fight over this matter, which led to Razzak’s death.”
We have detained Hossain Ali in connection with the incident, he said.
Police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for autopsy.
A case will be filed after the victim’s family places a complaint, the OC added.
