A man was killed and his son Zafar Mollah, 20, was seriously injured in the collision with the covered van. The dead and injured were on motorcycle.
The accident took place in Hudarajapur area of Jashore sador upazila around 1.00pm on Friday .
The deceased was identified as Nayan Mollah, 50, son of Ali Hossain Mollah a resident of Haibatpur area of Jashore Sadar.
Police and local sources said , Nayan Mollah and his son Zafar were coming towards Jashore from Khajura area by a motorcycle. At that time a covered van hit them from behind and fled. Nayan Mollah died on the spot.Later people took them to Jashore General Hospital.
Jashore General Hospital’s doctor Delwar Hossain Khan said, Nayan died before being brought to the hospital, while his son’s condition is critical. He has been referred to Dhaka Medical College.
Jashore Kotwali police station’s officer in charge Moniruzzaman confirmed the information and said that the body was sent to Jashore general Hospital morgue for autopsy.
