A Mobile Court conducted by Md. Nur-e-Alam Siddiquey, UNO and Executive Magistrate of Sharankhola (in Bagerhat district) in the village Kadamtala under the Upazila at Monday night (at about 1-30 am) convicted one Abdul Barik and sentenced him to suffer simple imprisonment for 6 (six) months on the charge of giving his minor daughter in marriage under Anti Child Marriage Act of 2017. At that time the bridegroom, his father and the Marriage Registrar (Kazi) fled away. The convicted was sent to Bagerhat jail in the following morning (Tuesday).
It is learnt from a source of the Upazila Nirbahi Office that a preparation is being arranged in the house of one Shah Alam Munshi of village Kadamtala for the marriage of his grand daughter Tania Aktar (16) with Md. Badal, son of one Harun-ar-Rashid of village Nalbunia under the same Upazila at Monday night (at about 1-30 am). Being informed of the matter Md. Nur-e-Alam Siddiquey, UNO.
