The father of the two siblings killed in Dhaka’s Rampura has started a case against the mother.
Mahfuza Malek Jasmine is the lone accused in the case her husband ‘Amanullah’ filed on Thursday night, Rampura police Inspector Mostafizur Rahman said.
Earlier in the day, RAB said Mahfuza had ‘admitted’ to killing the children on Monday.
Doctors declared Nusrat Aman Oroni, 14, and her brother Alvi Aman, 6, when they were brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state.
The family had then said they suspected the siblings had died after eating the leftovers of food brought from a local Chinese restaurant the previous night.
But forensic experts found bruises and finger prints on their throats as well as injury marks on several parts of their bodies during the post-mortem the next day, suggesting it was a case of murder.
After interrogation, RAB said on Thursday Mahfuza “killed them out of anxiety over their future”.
