Phulpur ( Mymensingh) Correspondent :
The fate of three development projects to build residence at Phulpur Upazila in Mymensingh financed by ADP has become uncertain due to the whimsical decision of the upazila Chairman Abul Bashar Akand, it is alleged .
Sources said , the Government allocated Tk 25 lakh for three development projects. The officials concerned have already selected the contractors and fixed dates of work through tender and lottery.
The upazila development coordination committee selected the work of the projects and published tender procedures in the newspapers. The tender procedures were published on May 7, 2015. On May 25, the committee finished all the jobs. But the upazila Chairman Abul Bashar Akand did not sign in the papers.
In this situation, Upazila Engineer Ripon Hur asked the contractors not to start any work.
Ripon Hur told The New Nation that they sent the papers and documents of the projects to the upazila chairman after completion all the related works. But the chairman did not sign any paper. That is why we asked the contractor not to start work.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Subrata Pal denied to comment in this regard.
