Farzana Samad Chowdhury, wife of late MP Mahmud-US-Samad Chowdhury, wants to contest the upcoming by-election of Sylhet-3 (Dakshin Surma-Fenchugonj-Balagonj) constituency. The seat fell vacant following the death of Awami League member of the parliament Mahmud-US-Samad Chowdhury due to corona at United Hospital in Dhaka on March 11.
Farzana Samad Chowdhury is also involved in many social and cultural organizations in Sylhet. She is a Founder Vice President of Mahmud-US-Samad – Farzana Chowdhury Girls High School in Fenchugonj.
In a statement, she said, “We lost our veteran politicians Mahmud-US-Samad Chowdhury MP within last 52 days. I pray salvation of the departed souls.”
She sought support from all so that he can complete the uncompleted works of Late MP Mahmud-US-Samad Chowdhury.
If she is elected as the Member of Parliament for the constituency, she will make the upazila a digital one, she added. She urged all the people including Dakshin Surma-Fenchugonj-Balagonj upazila AL and other organizations to come forward in support of him.
