Faruque Smrity Sangsad beat Singna Sangha by 58-32 points in the opening match of the Marcel Refrigerator 18th First Division Kabaddi League at the Kabaddi Stadium on Sunday.
Earlier, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam inaugurated the kabaddi competition by releasing the balloons as the chief guest while First Senior Additional Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn was with him as the special guest.
Chairman of the League Committee Ratan Kumar Saha presided over the inaugural ceremony. Member Secretary of the League Committee Kaiyum Sikder was present at the time.
A total of 12 teams are taking part in the eight-day long kabaddi meet. They are: Faruque Smrity Sangsad, Arbachin Krira Chakra, Man City Club, Singna Sangha, Maniknagar Unnayan Samity, Sharnali Sangsad, Institute of Kabaddi, Moulvi Suruzzamal Smrity Sangsad, Sat Rawja Nabin Sangha, Star Sports, Matuail Milon Smrity Sangsad and Shishu Kishore Sangha.
