Maulana Nurul Islam Farooqi, a ‘Channel i’ programme presenter was laid to eternal rest at his home village Nautari Nawabganj in Boda upazila of the district on Saturday.
Maulana Farooqi, who was brutally killed by unknown assailants at his East Rajabazar residence in the capital on Wednesday evening, was buried besides his parents at a graveyard following his another namaz-e-janaza at Nautari Nawabganj Primary School ground around 11.00am.
The first janaza of Maulana Farooqi, a Khatib of the Supreme Court Jame Masque and a leader of Bangladesh Islami Front, was held at the National Eidgah in the city after Juma’ prayer on Friday.
Advocate Nurul Islam Sujon, MP of Panchagarh-2 constituency, among others, attended the janaza.
Maulana Farooqi’s body was being taken to his village home at Nautari Nawabganj under Boroshashi union in Panchagarh district at around 3:55 am.
Maulana Nurul Islam Farooqi was presenter of a documentary titled ‘Kafela’, based on visits to historic sites of Islam, on Channel i television channel.
