Entertainment Desk :Bangladeshi film director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s next film will feature internationally acclaimed Indian superstar Irrfan Khan.Irrfan Khan, who acted in Hollywood productions Jurassic World and Life of Pi besides countless Indian blockbusters, will play the lead role in Doob, it was revealed today. The English name of the film will be No Bed of Roses.Farooki confirmed the news in a Facebook status, saying “Irrfan Khan is one of my favorite actors, who will act in my next movie Doob. Not only will he act in it, he will also be co-producing the film.”The cast also includes Nusrat Imroz Tisha, star of Farooki’s Third Person Singular Number that was Bangladesh’s entry to the 2011 Oscars and of Television that was Bangladesh’s entry to the 2014 Oscars. Parno Mitra (X: Past Is Present) and Rokeya Prachy (The Clay Bird) will also join the cast.Bangladeshi production house Jaaz Multimedia (Detective) will produce the film alongside India’s Eskay Movies (Romeo vs. Juliet) with Khan’ s IK Company on board as co-producer.Jaaz also will distribute the movie in Bangladesh. Principal photography of the movie will start in late March in Bangladesh.Talking to Variety, Farooki described the film as a “family story of loss and regain.””When I saw Mostofa’s film Ant Story it immediately got me interested. I was impressed with his approach, style and the way he unravels the story. (Farooki’s) works carry a strong humane angle, which is why his characters are multi-layered,” said Irrfan Khan to Variety.Farooki is hailed as one of the most talented proponents of an avant-garde filmmakers’ movement in Bangladesh known as Chabial. His feature “Television” closed the Busan festival in 2012 and won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2013 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
