Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor on Wednesday said farmers made record through agriculture revolution in the country.
“The present government is changing the fortune of country’s farmers and the agriculture revolution has been possible for timely initiatives taken by the government”, he said.
The minister said this as the chief guest while distributing seeds and fertilizers among small and marginal farmers at a function held on the premises of Nilphamari Sadar upazila parishad.
Sadar upazila administration and Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) organized the function under the government’s Agriculture Incentive and Rehabilitation programme.
Upazila parishad chairman Abujar Rahman presided over the function addressed by, among others, additional deputy commissioner Sahinur Alam, UNO mamun Bhuiyan, president of the district Awami League and Poura Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahamed, deputy director of DAE Golam M Idris and executive engineer of LGED Belal Hossain.
The minister also distributed Tk 55 lakh among 150 women workers in Sadar upazila.
