To share the best agricultural practices and science based knowledge to our Farmers’ for ensuring source of best quality Crops, a daylong ‘Farmers’ Meet’ was held at Dinajpur with 250 farmers. Nestlé Bangladesh organised the programme in collaboration with different government agricultural organizations recently .
In the programme, farmers enriched themselves on – application of new technologies and advanced agricultural science including the opportunities offered by bioscience when their positive effect on food safety, environment, agricultural practices and production efficiency.
Agriculture and rural development, is one of the core Nestlé Corporate Business Principles of Nestle Group, which has been integral part of its culture over last 150 years. In line with this global commitment, Nestlé Bangladesh has also initiated various activities like sustainable agricultural practices and systems that contribute to long-term production efficiency, viable incomes for farmers etc. In order to transfer such agricultural knowledge among farmers at Dinajpur area, Nestlé Bangladesh organized that event.
Dr. Md. Israil Hossain, Director General of Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute and Deepal Abeywickrema, Managing Director of Nestlé Bangladesh inaugurated the program along with other Government and Nestle officials.
