Police recovered a farmer’s dead body from near a pond at Purbopara village under Gopinathpur union of Badargonj upazila in the district yesterday morning .
The deceased was identified as Mansur Ali, 38 resident of Purbopara village of the upazila.
The officer in charge of Badargonj police station, Mohammad Akhteruzaman said, locals found a dead body lying near a pond at Purbopara village under Gopinathpur union of the upazilla in the morning. On information, police reached the spot around 9.00 am and recovered the dead body. Later, the deceased mother, Monowara Begum identified the dead body.
Monowara Begum said, her son on Tuesday night went to attend an invitation to one of their relative’s houses at Buripukuhat area of the upazila. He went missing since then.
The OC said, there were several marks of injuries on the deceased’s body. Police sent the dead body to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for post mortem examination. A case was filed with local police station.
