A farmer was killed in an attack over a land-related dispute at Bhoga Bosontopur village in Singra upazila on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Shamsul Haque, a resident of the village.
Nasir Uddin Mondol, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station, said Shamsul and Jahurul of the village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
Following the issue, Jahurul along with his several supporters equipped with sharp weapons attacked Shamsul while he was taking tea in a tea stall at Mayer Bazar at the village in the morning, leaving him critically injured.
