Farmer killed by the opponent in Bagerhat

 Pallob Basu alias Sona (35), a farmer who was fatally injured in his own village Afra under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district on Tuesday when his opponents hit on his head violently with a shovel succumbed to his injures in Dhaka Medical College on Wednesday in the morning, according to a report received here. On the day his wife Sumi Rani Basu (28), sister-in-law Shipra Rani Basu (35) and Uncle Arun Basu (60) were also injured in the hands the opponents. They were admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital on the same day for their treatmen
 It is learnt from Palash Kumar Basu, the elder brother of the deceased that an enmity had been prevailing between his family and one Samad Morol of the same village over the possession of plot of lands for years together. On the day while his brother Pallob was repairing the fencing on the borderline of the plot of the land Samad Morol and his son Azad Morrol appeared there and opposed him to do so. As a result, an altercation took place between them and his brother Paallob. At one stage Azad Morol became furious and struck him (Pallob) on his head with shovel forcefully. Consequently Pallob was fatally injured, fell on the ground and cried out in a piteous tone. On hearing his groaning when the members of his family rushed to the spot they were also beaten by Azad and his father. Then some locals appeared there, recovered them and sent them to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for their treatment. But considering the precarious condition of Pallob he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital. Later he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for betterment at the same night.
