The police on Saturday night recovered the body of a betel leaf farmer from underneath the cot at his residence. The police described the incident as fresh killing.
The dead was identified as Anwar Hossain Mollah, 50, betel leaf farmer and also resident of Gopinathpur village under Abhaynagar upazila.
Sheikh Nasir Uddin, officer in -charge, Abhaynagar police station told that the police recovered the body from under a cot at his residence being informed by the locals after having bad smell at around 11pm on Saturday.
He was killed with sharp weapons at the verandah of the victim’s residence in absence of other family members, the OC added.
Murad and Sharbuddi of the area went on hiding after recovering of the body. The victim had feud with the duo, said Shamim Hossain, son -in-law of the victim.
The police rounded up one but did not disclose the identity. No case was filed with the police station till filing of the report.
