UNB, Dhaka :
The aggrieved officials and employees of the “Amar Bari, Amar Khamar Prokolpo” (ABAKP) named ‘One House, One Farm project’ and the Palli Sanchay Bank (PSB) urged the government to regularise their jobs immediately and cancel all illegal recruitments.
They made the call at a human chain at Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Monday.
In a prepared statement, they also claimed the Palli Sanchay Bank Chairman Dr Mihir Kanti Majumder and Managing Director Akbar Hossain violated the law and rules for recruiting officials and employees in the bank and appointed new manpower through illegal recruitment business excluding them.
Md Solayman, convener of Amar Bari, Amar Khamar Prokolpo O Palli Sanchay Bank Kormokorta-Kormochari Samity, quoted the act under which the bank was formed. Officials of the “One House, One Farm” project should be appointed permanently at the PSB on a priority basis.
He demanded a circular for regularising jobs of those staffers of “One House, One Farm” project who were appointed before June 30, 2016.
He also demanded the arrest of the unscrupulous persons who were involved in bank’s senior officer Tofail Ahmad corruption.
“The police have already arrested Tofail Ahmad for receiving Tk 44 lakh as
bribe for appointments. So we also demand to arrest others involved immediately,” he also said.
He also claimed that despite a stay order of the High Court about such appointments, the bank authorities recruited 149 senior officers illegally. “We urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take necessary steps against the corruption.”
“We’ve been working at the bank on temporary basis for three years without any salary. We’ll force to go tougher programmes if a circular is not circulated in this regard immediately,” he also said.
