Farhad snatches Doleshwar’s victory in super league

Skipper Farhad Reza blasted unbeaten 37-ball off 68-run as Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club managed a hard-fought three-wickets victory over Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity in a super league match of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket on Saturday.
Farhad, led from the front, by hitting two boundaries and seven over boundaries as Doleshwar reached home with 11 balls to spare at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Farhad also involved 87-run inseparable seventh-wickets stand with Shahanur Rahman (19 n.o) who provided an ample support to Farhad during the chase, after Iqbal Abdullah (35), Sharifullah (30), Liton Das (24) and Farhad Hossain (22) contributed for their side early.
Mohammad Saddam was the pick of Khelaghar’s bowler as he claimed three wickets for 40 runs. He was well supported by Hasan Mahmud who bagged two wickets for 57 runs.
Earlier, despite Arafat Sunny’s five-wickets haul, Khelaghar scored a competitive total of 258 for 8 in allotted 50 overs courtesy of three half centuries by Robiul Islam Robi (62), Ashok Menaria (54) and Amit Mojumder (50), after they were invited to bat first by Doleshwar.
Apart from Arafat’s five-wickets for 45 runs, Farhad Reza captured two Khelaghar’s wickets giving away 56 runs.
Farhad Reza of Doleshwar was named the player of the match for his match-winning knock.
