Bangladesh posted 151 for 4 against the host Ireland in the 3rd and last match of their T20I series at Pembroke Cricket Club ground in Dublin on Sunday.
Sent in to bat first, Bangladesh played out quota 20 overs for their collection where Fargana Hoque [66* off 47b; 6×4; 2×6] hammered an unbeaten half century.
Fargana’s unbeaten 66 is the highest individual score in the series till now while 151 is the highest team total in the series, as Bangladesh chased 125 and 135 runs target in previous double-header for four wicket victories in each of the 2nd and 1st matches respectively.
The previous individual score was recorded by Ireland cricketer Cecelia Joyce (60) in the 2nd game.
Coming into crease in the day’s match, Bangladesh started a doughty show as opener Shamima Sultana [30 off 27b; 5×4] collected 14 in the first over with hammering three boundaries while Ayasha Rahman [27 off 26b; 3×4] started his batting with two successive boundaries in the 2nd overs of the innings.
Shamima and Ayasha paired for a solid partnership of 47 off 7 overs in the opening stand before Shamima was stumped by Mary Waldron off Ciara Metcalfe.
Ayasha continued with Fargana Hoque up to the team’s collection of 77/2 in 11.1 overs before being run out.
Ireland skipper Laura Delany (1/19), Eimear Richardson (1/31) and Ciara Metcalfe (1/32) equally shared three wickets for the side.
