Under the auspices of Bagerhat Press Club a warmly farewell reception was accorded to Md. Mamunur Rashid, DC, Bagerhat in a meeting held in its auditorium on Saturday morning on the occasion of his transfer from Bagerhat to Cox’s Bazar district as its new DC. It was presided over by Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husainm, senior most member of the Press Club while it was addressed among others by General Secretary Al-haj Abdul Baki Talukdar, Vice-president Nakib Sirajul Haq and members Shaikh Ahsanul Karim, Ahad Uddin Haidar, Delwar Hossain, Babul Sardar, Bisnu Prosad Chakrabarty, Yamin Ali, M Ali Akbor Tutul, Khondokar Akmal Hossain Sakhi, Mir Jaeysi Ashrafi James and S M Shamsur Rahman.
All the speakers while were addressing the farewell reception meeting termed the outgoing DC Mamunur Rashid as a journalist-friend DC and told, he served the district only for 1 year and 7 months. But during this short time he had to face a number of natural calamities like cyclone Amphan and COVID-19 pandemic. During the period he did a lot for the betterment of the Amphan battered people of the district and to check the spread of corona virus.
