The reception ceremony for the freshers’ and farewell to outgoing students was held at the Law Department of Chittagong University (CU) on Thursday amid festivity and fanfare.
CU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury was the Chief Guest while CU Pro-vice Chancellor Dr Sherin Akter was the special guest at the gala program chaired by the department Chairman Prof ABM Abu Noman.
The VC, in his speech, welcomed the new students on the green campus and said Law Department bears glorious history.
He also told the outgoing students that it is not their farewell rather it is a change for entering the higher and greater arena.
Iftekhar Uddin expected that they would spread the acquired knowledge and establish justice across the globe.
More than 600 students of Law department were present. 10 students also get crest. Among them 5 for their outstanding result and 5 for highest attendence in class.

Prof Zafar Ullah Talukder, assistance Prof Dr Moin Uddin of law department also addressed.
