Fancy Techniques of Airlines Ticket Fraud: One held

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police have arrested one Mahbub Ur Rashid of an airline ticket fraud ring. At the time, 81 fake tickets of different airlines, two mobile phone sets used for fraud, two computers, a black jeep, checks of 12 different banks and a Dutch-Bangla ATM card were seized from him.
Mahbub was arrested on Wednesday night (May 11) from the capital’s Kalabagan Green Road area.
DB Additional Commissioner AKM Hafeez Akter made the remarks at a press conference in the DMP’s media center on Thursday (May 12).
“Based on intelligence information, DB official said, there are number of traveling and tour agencies that sell advance tickets to individuals or sub-agents in the Middle East, Europe, North America and Africa. After paying the fixed fee, cheat give
the passengers with full e-ticketing where the passenger’s name, date of birth and passport number are furnished and all the information on where to depart and where to go as well as transit is given.
Hafiz Akhter said passengers used to collect their air tickets through them. But after booking the ticket, the cycle would cancel the ticket and refund. As a result, the actual passengers were in danger on the day of travel. Later, when the passengers contacted the travel agency, they again offered the same ticket with a fee of 50 thousand or even one lakh taka. Most of the time those tickets proved to be fake. At one stage, the staff of the ticket agency switched off their mobiles, shifted offices and disappeared.
A case has been filed against the arrested with the Bhatara police station.
