The family members of Ziaul Kabir Dulu, an eminent freedom fighter and social worker demanded immediate release of him terming the case filed against him as conspiracy.
Jatiya Somajtantrik Dal (JSD) leader freedom fighter Ziaul Kabir Dulu was arrested from his Gopibagh residence in the capital on November 4 in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.
Rehena Tulip, wife of Dulu and his younger brother Ahmedul Kabir Jakir, in a joint press release on Saturday said, some miscreants hacked Dulu’s facebook ID and shared different photos of road safety movement and writings criticizing the government development work. But he never did it. It was a conspiracy and pre-planned to arrest him by a vested quarter, they alleged.
They said Dulu filed two general diary with the Motijheel Police Station and Wari Police Station after hacking his facebook on March 3 and October 2 this year.
His arrest is a matter of inhumanity and breach the rule of law as he reported the matter of hacking to the police , they said.
They said that Dulu was vocal against irregularity of the governing body members of Motijheel Ideal School and College. He is also President of Motijheel Ideal School and College Guardians Forum.
“He has been taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. But we are in fear about his proper treatment. We demanded immediate release of him to the government as a freedom fighter and as an innocent senior citizen,” they said.
