The family members of death-row war criminal BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury entered the Dhaka Central Jail to meet him on Thursday afternoon. Fifteen members of SQ Chowdhury’s family entered the jail at about 12:27 pm. Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court upheld its previous verdict on the BNP leader, rejecting his plea for reviewing death penalty for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971, keeping no further legal bar for his execution. A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha dismissed the review petition of SQ Chowdhury. –UNB, Dhaka
