Staff Reporter :
The family members of missing BNP Joint Secretary General Salauddin Ahmed have rejected the five separate reports submitted to the High Court by different law enforcement agencies.
“The reports are false and fabricated. The law enforcers picked up my husband and now they are denying it. Even, police did not accept my general diary in this regard,” Hasina Ahmed, wife of Salahuddin and also a former BNP MP, said while talking to media on the High Court premises on Monday.
On Sunday, police, RAB, CID, SB and DMP submitted separate reports to the High Court. The reports said that none of the law enforcing agencies had arrested Salahuddin Ahmed, or could not rescue him.
Meanwhile, BNP’s spokesman and party’s Joint-Secretary General Barkatullah Bulu, on behalf of the 20-party alliance, in a statement yesterday said that they are stunned over the brutal mockery about Salahuddin. The important persons of the government are delivering irresponsible statements, he said. Bulu said that the government is not paying minimum heed to the anxiety of the family members of Salahuddin. He demanded safe and unhurt return of the BNP leader to his family. He also urged the human rights organisations to raise voice on the issue.
On Monday, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP, staged agitation rallies and processions in different parts of the country demanding safe return of Salahuddin Ahmed. As part of the countrywide programme, the organisation brought out processions at Shahbagh and BUET campus in the capital city.
Led by JCD central vice president Alamgir Hasan Sohan, the procession of BUET brought out at about 11:00am on the campus. A brief rally was held following the procession. Leaders and workers of Dhaka University unit of the JCD also joined the procession. The procession at Shahbagh, led by the JCD joint secretaries Mofizur Rahman Ashik and Mehbub Masum Shanto, was brought out at about 8:00am. Leaders and workers of the DU unit joined the procession.
