The families of the missing of 20 people, who were allegedly picked up by law enforcers three years ago, are still waiting for their return.
Families vented their pain and anger on the government and demanded to take immediate necessary steps to bring them back. They made the demand at a press conference at the National Press Club in the city on Sunday.
The missing 20 people had been picked up between November 28 and December 11 in 2013 from different Most of those victims were involved in the politics of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Although three years have elapsed the members of law enforcement agencies did not inform anything about the fate of the missing people.
They also sought President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s intervention to get back their near and dear ones.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday said there is no ‘word’ about disappearance in the country.
“Those who went missing, either they went into hiding or confined themselves. And many of them have returned,” he told journalists after attending a photography exhibition at Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy
 “But our all efforts went in vain,” Afroza Islam Akhi said. Kazi Farhad, Sajedul Islam Suman, Zahidul Karim Tanvir, Mazharul Islam Russel, Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Masum, Asaduzzaman Rana, Al Amin, Adnan Chowdhury, Kawsar Ahmed, Selim Reza Pintu Khalid Hassan Sohel, Somrat Mollah, Zahirul Islam, Parvez Hossain, Mohammad Sohel, Sohel Chanchol, Nizamuddin Munna, Tariqul Islam Jhantu and Mahbub Hassan Sujan remained missing since between November 28 and December 11 in 2013.
