A case has been filed against Char-Issordiyar UP Chairman Jahangir demanding compensation of Tk 100 crore for defamation as Maymansingh municipality mayor and two government officials have filed false cases for defamation.
The Mayor of Mymensingh Municipality, Ikramul Haque Titu, filed the case with the joint district judge on Tuesday. The judge accepted the case. Earlier on Jun 3, the Mayor issued a legal notice to Murshedul Alam Jahangir for the payment of compensation amounting to Tk 100 crore for the compensation. The notice was given by Char Issordiya UP Chairman Murshedul Alam Jahangir on 4th June itself.
Jahangir’s chairman was asked to pay Titu for the payment of one hundred crore taka for the compensation within 3 weeks of receiving notice on the legal notice. Mayor Titu sued the case on Tuesday not receiving any notice but the Mayor did not give any reply to the legal notice, without paying the money demanded by Titu to pay the notice within the prescribed time.
