Noted actress Falguni Hamid and noted
theatre personality M Hamid were hospitalised after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
The news was confirmed by their daughter, popular TV actress Tonima Hamid.
Tonima said, “After my father was diagnosed with Covid-19 on December 29, we admitted him to the hospital as his health deteriorated. The next day my mother also tested positive and was admitted to the hospital.” She asked for prayers for her parents’ fast recovery.
M Hamid is a dramatist, and the former Director General of Bangladesh Television.
He has also served as the founding president of the theatre group, Natyachakra. On the other hand, Falguni Hamid is also a playwright, director and producer. She was the Director
of Bangladesh Shishu Academy. She was also a journalist. The couple tied the knot
on December 24 in 1978.
